July Favourites

Style... It can only be the navy linen shirt which I can not stop wearing (see this blog post) . I'm currently on a mission to find it in white...

Beauty... This is more of a tool than a product, but I recently heard that using Gua Sha stones for facial massage can help with Bruxism (clenching or griding your jaw while asleep which causes pain and limits jaw mobility). I have only just bought this set which is a rose quartz gua sha stone along with a double ended roller - so I can't comment on if it's helped with that yet, but even if it doesn't, it feels SO good on my skin. I got mine form TK Maxx, but i've found an equivalent (with free shipping) on Amazon

Blogs... While on holiday in Cornwall at the beginning of this month, I discovered the YouTube channels, and subsequently the Instagrams and blogs of Anna Newton of The Anna Edit and Lizzie Hadfield of Shot From The Street. I've loved discovering bloggers who have a different approach to fashion - where the emphasis is on personal style, re-wearing items, minimizing your wardrobe etc, rather than hauling tonnes of cheap trend led pieces.

Books... I've barely been reading this month, which is unusual for me, but when I have been picking up a book - it's been Not Working by Lisa Owens. It's funny, tragically relateable and written almost in the style of a diary with lots of sub headings and short and amusing observations, making it easy to dip in and out of!

Film & TV... I know it's taken me a looong time to jump on this bandwagon, but Stranger Things is the only thing that's managed to keep me from watching hours of old Time Team episodes on YouTube. I love the autumnal, 80's suburban American aesthetic along with the acting, soundtrack, score an basically everything else. I get the hype now.
Film-wise, I finally got round to watching Notting Hill and I can't believe it took me so long. It ticks all the 90's rom-com boxes and it's left me wanting to take a trip to London ASAP to explore Notting Hill.

Miscellaneous... I'm a sucker for candles, scent sachets and room sprays, i'm also a sucker for anything lavender fragranced, so this Sweet Harmony Cleansing Room Spray was something I had to get! They're made by my Mum's cousin who sells them along with candles, artwork by my great Aunt, and other lovely things at a local market. There are two other fragrances but I went for the lavender, camomile and rose quartz (tiny pieces of which are actually inside the bottle!).

For next month... In August, i'm aiming to only buy second hand clothes and accessories. I do this a lot of the time anyway but this month i've slipped and indulged in a few high street purchases so i'm going to have a bit of a ban in place!
I want to read at least two books, which isn't too much to ask but we'll see! on my list are: One Day by David Nicholls (i'm sure I read this years ago but don't remember it!), A Modern Family by Helga Flatland and non-fiction wise, I'd love to get my hands on An Edited Life by Anna Newton so that I can become an organisation Godess!
