Local Adventures - Minster Lovell

Adventuring to nearby towns and villages is one of our favorite things to do as a family, and we're very lucky to live in the Cotswolds, where there are so many beautiful historic places and countryside walks right on our doorstep.
We've visited Minster Lovell in Oxfordshire a few times now and we aren't yet bored of the pretty Cotswold stone cottages, exploring the 15th century ruins of Mister Lovell Hall (unashamed Time Team fan here) and having a picnic and a paddle in the river that runs right next to it. The ruins and river are free to visit and are dog, child, picnic, barbecue, swim - friendly, so definitely worth a wander round if you're ever nearby!
We managed to keep the hoards of visitors out of frame in most of the photos below, however on a hot day during the summer holidays, expect it to be busy and full of kids climbing and swimming! I don't mind too much, but one for my list of things to do this year is to visit again in autumn or winter when i'm sure the atmosphere will have a very different feel, and the ruins and the white doves that roost on them will look even more beautiful.
